Photos of the signed vehicle title The photo must clearly show: the Seller's signature in the seller section on the back; your legal name and address in the Buyer section; the odometer reading; and the date and purchase price. Please cross out anything financial first — your SSN, card or bank details. Photos of the bill of sale The photo must clearly show: the full names, addresses and signatures of both buyer and seller; the year, make, model and 17-character VIN; the final purchase price and date of sale; and the words “Sold As-Is”. 1. The signed vehicle title

The legal proof. Photograph it so we can read:

The seller's signature in the seller section on the back
Your name and address in the buyer section
The odometer reading
The date and purchase price

2. The bill of sale

The financial record. It should show:

Full names, addresses and signatures of both of you
The year, make, model and 17-character VIN
The final price and date of sale
The words “Sold As-Is”

Please redact first

Cross out anything financial before you photograph it: your social security number, card numbers, bank details. We never need them, and we'd rather not hold them.

What happens next

We review both documents and get in touch. Claims are held for 14 days before any payment.
